Everybody has made a grocery list. Most if us know the layout of a grocery store. These things are easy. But budgeting is easy too. statisticians say that upwards of 70% of people don’t have a budget. I get it. It sounds scary, like you’ll have to do crazy math or something. Uh-uh. Pretend like you are going to the grocery store. Break up the budget into aisles. Housing, Utilities, Transportation, Savings (yes, that is an aisle) Household items like groceries (how very meta of us) and lastly Debt. Now lets go get our shopping cart. You shopping cart is only as big as your net income, that’s after taxes. So now we need to cram all of the items in those aisles into this little ass cart. It can be done. I’ll post tips and tricks as I continue writing this blog, but start here: Put pen to paper and make your list. all the items you buy in one month and then list how much you make in one month. Here is a hint, spend less than you make. Simple easy, the first step is done and you are part of the 20% of folks who have started a budget. Welcome to the minority, lets get comfy.
